West 5  Chartreuse is really big here, and bartender Mike Howell swings a mean cocktail for a mere $4 during happy hour. 4-6pm everyday. Pair the drinks with $4 appetizers and you got a perfect mix going. West 5's famous Mac and Cheese is missing from the happy hour.. but we can badger them into it someday. 4539 California Ave. S.W., Seattle, WA. 206-935-1966 www.WestFive.com

The Bohemian A mixed clientele from parents and belly dancers -to- hipsters and elderly, everyone will feel at home here. People oogling at it's finest. Happy hour from 3-6pm Weds-Sat, all night Tues and Sun. $4 sangria, wines, and 'dollar off' beers. As for grub, The Bohemian is best known for a $6 slow-braised garlic 'bana calda' with white anchovies. 3405 California Ave. SW, Seattle, WA 206-938-2646 www.BohemianSeattle.com

Alki Tavern Dubbed by many on two wheels as mecca, I agree.. this tav has the vote. In the past Tusday taco nights hold many a fine memory, and the place just rocks on. Special happy hour "midnight till noon" with $2 high life; then a classic Happy Hour M-F 3p-6p with home style food specials till 10pm. 1321 Harbor Ave SW Seattle, WA 206-932-9970

Cactus on Alki Authentic Mexican Grill. The expansive salt water view off Alki Beach is impressive e-nuff. Well prepared Mex fare and good drinks. Happyness between 3-5pm every day. $5 house Mojito, sangria, margaritas, with select wines at $6 a glass. Guacamole, chips and salsa, nachos, quesadillas and more $4 to $6. OUTDOOR SEATING. 2820 Alki Ave SW. Seattle, WA 206-933-6000 (Multiple locations) www.CactusRestaurants.com

Jak's
A classic West Seattle establishment with comforting no-frills culinary favorites since 1996. Jak's offers a very short happy hour -quite literally one hour- 4:30 to 5:30 M-F. A short list of $5 food offerings (classic steakhouse grub) with $5 wines, buck-off beers, and cocktails too at $4 - $6. 4548 Claifornia Ave. SW Seattle, WA. 206-937-7809 www.JaksGrill.com

Matador
(multiple locations). Somebody said the only way to celebrate anything is with good tequila.. and the Mataor has plenty to choose from, plus, their Mexican food is stellar. Happyness 4-6pm or late 10-midnight everyday. Twelve appetizers make up the happy hour menu.. so you can manage hangovers from the start quite well. 4546 California Ave., S.W. Seattle, WA. 206-932-9988 www.MatadorRestaurants.com

Yen Wor Village
Located in upscale Admiral Junction. Happy daily 3-6pm.. and every day happy hour is different. A venerable 'Grand Canyon' of happy hour options at around $5 a plate.. so be adventurous. 2300 California Ave. S.W., Seattle, WA. (also in Greenwood) 206-932-1455 www.YenWorSeattle.com

Fresh Bistro Mondays are 'Steak Night', Seafood weds, and crispy duck rolls just sound interesting. Best happy hour food is the $5 Bento boxes. Chef Chea offers new food often so just try'em out. 4-6p. 4725 42nd Ave. S.W., Seattle, WA. 206-935-3733 www.Herbanfeast.com/freshbistro

Beveridge Place Pub Happy daily... from 3 - 6pm. Cool. $1 off Washington micros. Advertised as 'Brews and Dogs'. No, really... dogs.. the four-legged furry kind are welcome. Your mutt will love it. NO FOOD means yer pups can join you in this small tavern. But, you can bring whatever you want to eat. Now there's a twist. (Pssst.. Zeek's Pizza is right next door) OUTDOOR SEATING. 6413 California Ave. SW, Seattle. 206-932-9906 www.beveridgeplacepub.com

Saltys on Alki The view of downtown Seattle is half the fun at this ritzy and fishing theme decorated cafe. Mon thru Sat. 3pm – 6pm, and again at 9pm – close. Pyramid beer $2.99, and Salty’s own label wines $4.99. OUTDOOR SEATING 1936 Harbor SW Seattle, 206-937-1600.

Dukes The 2nd level deck makes visiting Dukes Alki a visual treat --> but happy hour is only offered to the inside bars! Sheesh... Still, on a sunny day this place is perfect for the sweeping visuals of Alki Beach and puget sound.. and people watching. Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m., Duke’s has $2.50 wells and Red Hook brew, and $3.95 “Duketails”—a kooky name for six very tasty and extra-strength kamikazes. who cares what they are called after two!
