Oliver's Twist (Phinney Ridge) Happy hour daily 5-7p, and Sunday all night. $2 off specialty cocktails, $1 off everything on the menu. One of Greenwood's gems. 6822 Greenwood Ave N., Seattle. 206-706-6673 www.OliversTwistSeattle.com

Ivar's Salmon House (south edge of Wallingford) One of the best happy hours in Seattle with the best outdoor deck.. it's a huge barge really! It's like a trip to Tillicum Village but without the boat ride... and a far better deal with a full bar. BooYeah! Could it get any better? Really? Yes. IN THE WINTER months -The happy hour goes all night! Their bar is called 'The Whalemaker Lounge', and like the deck, it too offers one hellova great view of downtown Seattle (twilight is best). Ivar's is located at canal side, north shore.. kinda under the I-5 freeway ship canal bridge. Take your date here and act like a big cheeze with plenty of happy food at a ok prices (they raised $ awhile back) but get cuddly with the downtown Seattle skyline.. Ahhhaaa. Happy hour deals on well drinks and wines, $4 draft beers too. Appetizers like chowder, Halibut bites, popcorn shrimp, and chips! fish caesar rocks but pricy for a happy hour.. still real good! OUTDOOR SEATING! The summer happy hour schedule (July - Sept), usual happy times are 4p - 6:30p; then 9p - close MF. 401 N.E. Northlake Way, 632-0767. www.ivars.net

Bizzarro Italian Cafe (Wallingford) Happy Sun-F 5-6p. Kooky atmosphere in this off the beaten path cafe.. but then it's Bizzarro. Look for it just around the corner from the Blue Star. Great Italian fare with friendly help. 1307 N 46th Street, Seattle. 206-632-7277 www.bizzarroitaliancafe.com

Rain Modern Infusion Cuisine Happy daily 4-CLOSE. Cool... A cozy place offering a late night happy hour. 2208 N 45th Street 206-545-7848

Greenlake Bar and Grill Located on the east side of Green Lake next to the long-time landmark Baskin-Robbins ice cream shop. GLB&G offers good happy food after your walk-the-lake. Friendly staff with a $2.50 to $4.50 happy hour menu -> Try a cheesy chicken quesadilla, wedge salad, or burger an' fries. And, enjoy these dishes ANYWHERE in the whole restaurant- even outside on the patio! (Please read this RAYS Boathouse!) Ha. 4pm-6, and 10-11pm all 7 days. Blue Star, The (Wallingford) Happy hour 3-7pm M-F. $2.50 wells, $1 off pints on Tuesdays.. also you might be visiting with the Russian motorcycle riders on Tuesdays. Just a few selections for happy grub, they are good, but portions recently dowsized. Still, I go there to visit with a few great pals like Kenny W during new-brew tasting.. on Wednesdays. Find Blue Star on the western end of Wallingford, just off the 45th and Stone Way... next to the new Archie McPhees. 4512 Stone Way Seattle, WA.

Blue Water Bistro - Greenlake.
Happy hour daily 4 - 6pm, with $3 drafts, $4 house wine, and discounted appetizers. Yea, cousin to the other Blue Water Bistros, this site hosts a marvelous charm across from our famous GreenLake. On a summer day they toss the big doors open and the place feels Hawaiian... cool. On a winter night the gas fireplace is ...hot. 7900 E. Green Lake Drive, Seattle, WA. 206-524-3985.

Green Lake / Wallingford Honorable Mentions: Al's Tavern, Art of the Table, Changes Tavern, Duck Island Ale House Bar, Dukes, Tangletown (Elysian Brewing), Kangroo & Kiwi Pub, Latona Pub, Little Red Hen, Murphy's Pub, Rusty's Pelican Cafe, Tutta Bella Neapolitan Pizzeria.
